March Meisner - 6th- 17th (8Classes)

Connecting Technique and Crossing into Character

Service Description

PART I Thursday March 6th through Sunday March 9th - Actors are given scripts specifically chosen for them and their scene partner and delve deeply into the world of their character, through the lens of Meisner's Scene Work/ Improv Exercises. Actors work with the same structure of Meisner exercises (IN/OUT) through improvised scene work. They employ the same connection work in their task - their need and expectations - relationship - stakes - conflict -However, they are now using the script as a way to build their tasks and given relationship, using their character's life/world ("imaginary circumstances"/ the Script chosen for them) 4 scenes/characters given over the four days. You will be paired and sent scripts in advance of the class. The scheduled pairings for this class will also be sent out in advance. There will be no last minute pairings because of this prep time, so book your spot asap. Part II Thursday March 13th - Sunday March 16th Second week will have each pairing of actors film the scene they were given as reference in Part I. They will now implement the work they have established with their character in Meisner, on camera with the scenes dialogue. This is the occasion for the actor to see what they have built through the exercises and how it applies now to their Film work. It's also an opportunity to learn to work to the industry standard in taking notes and adjustments just as you would from a director. (This will act in similar structure to the previous ongoing Film class)
